Get the most out of your hand soap remnants

A new soap bar

It is a very easy process that will easily let you make a new soap bar.

  1. First, you will need to gather all the pieces of soap that you can and get them in a wide glass jar.
  2. In the jar, then add the kind of cream you like. For example, you can use a moisturizer, such as a body lotion  or the like. You do not have to add a lot, just a little bit is enough.
  3. Then you put the jar of  soap and moisturizer in a water bath. Remember that you should not cover the jar completely while the soap is melting. In addition, you will need to stir constantly to mix all the pieces and to get rid of lumps.
  4. Then find a shape. The ideal is a silicone container in the shape and size you want.
  5. Very carefully pour the soap into the mold. The soap will be very hot when you pour it in. Do not touch the liquid and use potholders so that you do not burn yourself.
  6. Finally wait for a few hours while it cools down. You will then have a new soap bar in your favorite color and scent.

Liquid jelly soap from remnants of hand soap

Instead of a new bar,  we will now show you how to make a liquid hand soap. Or you can make a shower gel. Although the process is a bit more complicated, it is not very difficult. Check it out!

  1. First of all, you will need to find out how much remnants of hand soap you have. You will then know how much water you need to get a good consistency with your liquid or jelly soap.
  2. To do this, tear your remnants of hand soap until you have as much powder as possible.
  3. It is then important to weigh it. For every 40 grams of hand soap, use 950 ml of water.
  4. Now that you know how much water you need, it’s time to boil it. When it starts to boil, add the soap and turn down the heat.
  5. The goal is for the soap to dissolve and mix with the water without any lumps. To do this, the temperature does not have to be very high. It is actually best if you melt it over low heat, although it will take longer.
  6. When it is completely dissolved, set it aside to cool.
  7. As it cools, you will notice that it will thicken and feel a bit like jelly.
  8. When it is completely cold, pour it into the bottle or dispenser you want to use.
  9. Before closing the container, however, you need to “whip” the soap with a spoon or stick.
  10. Finally, you can close the container and use it as hand soap or shower gel.

You’re done with your homemade hand soap

As you can see,  it is not difficult to reuse your remnants of hand soap. You just have to follow a few steps to get a new bar. You can also make a new liquid hand soap and a new shower gel.

By the way, keep in mind that  the more varied pieces of soap (in color and scent), the more original and unique the result will be. In any case, you now have an excellent way of recycling your old stuff. You do not have to throw them out or pick up old pieces of soap ever again.
