I went through many storms to reach the calm I have today

I went through many storms to reach the calm I have today. The Dalai Lama has been known to say that it is impossible to achieve peace in the world. If you do not first find it in your own mind and heart.

In fact, you are not trying to solve problems in the rest of the world on a day-to-day basis. It’s enough for you to “be okay”, and this peace has a lot to do with the concept of calm.

Being calm means knowing how to look at your worries objectively to end obsessions.  Set it aside, that which causes your unhappiness, irritation or discomfort to achieve an inner harmony that has as much to do with yourself as what surrounds you.

It is not easy to reach this state because it is facing a lot of your personal storms. In many cases, it may not be something that people are always prepared for.

We will explain how to get there.

The calm that comes after many storms

There is no doubt that on more than one occasion, you have experienced the following. You realized that you could not move on in your relationship, and eventually had to tell that person how you felt.

These situations are normal processes in the life cycle. A problem occurs when you refuse to confront it and allow it to pull out. While  further problems intertwine around it.

If you find yourself unable or do not know how to prioritize your needs, your life gradually becomes a spider web designed to trap you. Many storms surround you, which deprive you of happiness.

Pay attention to the steps you need to follow to reach a state of inner – and outer – calm.

Learn to think

You can call it reflection, meditation, or just thinking. Believe it or not, you should have at least one hour a day for yourself in silence where you can connect with yourself – this is something that is very therapeutic.

  • It is ideal to have an hour in the morning to analyze where you are, what your needs are, what is bothering you, what you are worried about and what you can do about it.
  • Throughout the day, it becomes harder to think in silence and calm, so it is a good idea to make a daily agreement with yourself to meditate and always stick to that agreement. Make it a part of your routine.

Learn to simplify your life

What does it mean to really simplify your life? When a person begins to meditate, reflect or think about their own priorities, they realize that there are lots of things that they can do without.

  • Simplification means knowing what’s important to you, and then making it a priority.
  • If there are people who only bring conflicts, complaints, worries or fears into your life, it may be time to let them go.
  • If there is something about yourself that you do not like, it is time to change this or at least start the process.
  • Think of the simple life as something pleasant. Where everyone is able to be content with what surrounds them, without artifice or complications.

Avoid criticism, practice acceptance

Once you are able to set aside the things that hurt you, it is time to move forward without looking for culprits in your life.

  • If you feel obligated to leave your partner or a friend. So do not complicate this already difficult time by looking for sinners or building anger and bitterness.
  • Negative emotions are the opposite of inner peace. You can never be calm if you have fear or hate. You need to learn to both accept and avoid criticism.

Practice gratitude

You know that it is not always easy to give thanks when you have been disappointed, betrayed, or simply experienced more sorrow than joy.

  • Nevertheless, something as simple as approaching your life from a calmer perspective and a grateful attitude will no doubt bring you a deeper inner balance.
  • Practicing gratitude is also a way to free yourself and calm many storms. It helps you recognize the good you bring to others and the fact that life is filled with beautiful things that you can enjoy.
  • A mind that is calm is also a grateful mind that knows how to prioritize, shows respect, and lives a simple and humble life.
Through many storms

Being calm has nothing to do with minimizing your daily activities; It is simply to find this wonderful balance where you have nothing in surplus and you lack nothing. Saying goodbye to the many storms used to occupy your mind.

This is the time in your life when you can finally say to yourself, “ I’m fine. I do not need more. “

Well this point is a wonderful thing that is worthwhile. We suggest you start your inner journey to calm down today.
